KidZoneAn excellent nugget of advice I once heard about raising children was, “You are not raising a child; you are raising an adult.” This counsel is so very true, because our children today will be tomorrow’s leaders. With this in mind, it is important for us to have a vision for our children that will carry them into the future with assurance. They need a foundation that is Biblically solid and a belief in God that will work in the real world.

There are three specific issues that are critical to helping a child become a healthy believer:

  • “I need to make the wise choice!”
  • “I can trust God, no matter what!”
  • “I should treat others the way I want to be treated!"

From the moment a child walks through our doors, every activity should reinforce one principle over and over. The Bible story time should reinforce that the Scripture is their source of wisdom. The worship or sing along time emphasizes the power and love of God as one they can trust. Fellowship time allows the opportunity for kids to be with friends, to talk about their faith and encourage each other.

Luke 2:52 tells us—Jesus grew up in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men. This is our ultimate goal for our children—to grow up to be just like Jesus.
